Maria Santiago. I am a painter, printmaker and sculptor, and a founding member of CreArte, a Hispanic/Latino/Chicano arts organization. I believe that art serves to help people connect with their reality, and that the artist's role is to both discover and create meaning. My paintings were exhibited at the Tweed Museum, MEAP Gallery and Intermedia Arts, and reproduced on the cover of Colors magazine. I am a professor at the College of Visual Art in St Paul, where I run the printmaking program.
